Occupational Therapy
At Storybrook, our occupational therapists use targeted, therapeutic activities to help our residents regain and maintain their functional abilities, independence, and quality of life. Whether residents are recovering from illness or injury, or facing the challenges of aging, our occupational therapy services empower them to adapt to their environment and master the essential tasks of daily living.
Our skilled occupational therapists work closely with residents who have conditions like debilitating arthritis, as well as those needing assistance with basic self-care activities like bathing and dressing. We also provide specialized support for residents with visual or hearing impairments, ensuring they can continue to function safely and confidently in their home environment.
Through personalized, activity-based therapy, our occupational therapists are dedicated to maximizing each resident’s independence and restoring their ability to live life to the fullest.
Areas of treatment may include:
- Functional independence: eating, bathing, toileting, homemaking, cooking, etc.
- Maintenance of wellness: dressing and grooming
- Prevention of further disability: home assessments and modifications, adaptive equipment
- Increasing safety awareness
